Scottsville Workforce Program
A Program
That Works for the Scottsville Workforce
Does it seem like your work schedule made it impossible for you
to earn a college degree? Not anymore!
Beginning in spring 2011, LWC will offer a business
administration degree program designed for adult learners who are
in the workforce. The program's flexible, innovative schedule fits
into a work schedule and life while giving students the guidance to
be successful.
Degrees Offered
Adult learners may earn an associate's degree in business
administration (AA) or a bachelor's degree in business
administration (BA).
How Long Does It Take to Earn a Degree?
If students remain continuously enrolled and earn a "C"
or better in each course, the AA can be earned in six semesters
(two years); the BA can be earned in 10-11 semesters (two years
beyond the AA). All coursework in the AA degree applies
toward the BA.
How Courses Are Offered
Courses are be offered in a hybrid format in eight-week
modules (two modules per semester). Hybrid courses have an online
component and a face-to-face component. Students meet with
instructors and fellow students every other week (four times);
other coursework is done online. (See sample module.) Students may
enroll in classes that meet face-to face in the day (8:30-11:45
a.m. CT) or in the evening (6:30-9:45 p.m. CT). Face-to-face
meetings are held at the LWC-Scottsville Campus.
When Will I Be In Class?
If enrolled in two classes per eight-week
term, adult learners will be in class for 3-1/2 hours one day
or evening per week. Instruction occurs online throughout the
session. Many classes are team-taught. Students need access to a
computer with an Internet.

How to Afford College
LWC staff work with students to apply for financial aid.
Some employers offer an educational benefit. Students enrolled in
four classes each semester (two each per eight-week module) are
classified as a full-time student. Full-time students usually have
access to financial aid options not available to part-time
students.
