Criminal Justice
The mission of the Criminal Justice
program is to prepare students for careers and further study in the
three main substantive areas of criminal justice, policing, courts
and corrections.
The Criminal Justice program provides a
bachelor of arts degree in Criminal Justice as well as a minor in
Criminal Justice. The program is designed to prepare graduates for
careers in the three main substantive areas of Criminal Justice:
policing, courts, and corrections. The program is also appropriate
for students who plan to attend graduate schools in Criminal
Justice or Law.
Program Distinctions
The Criminal Justice program at Lindsey Wilson allows students
to specialize in three distinct fields: law
enforcement, the courts,
and corrections. Lindsey Wilson is able to offer these
specialties because of the diverse range of experience and
expertise our faculty bring to the program. Also, prior to
graduation, all Criminal Justice majors undergo a semester-long
internship program that exposes them to their field of interest and
gives them valuable on-site training and experience.
Why choose Criminal Justice?
The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts
degree in Criminal Justice from Lindsey Wilson College is to fully
prepare students for success in law school, law enforcement, or
corrections. Cited as one of the fastest growing career fields of
the next decade, a person with a Criminal Justice degree can be
assured longevity and security in the many employment options that
exist for the program graduates. This newly emerging field of study
has led Lindsey Wilson to develop this major. It is one of only two
Criminal Justice programs offered in the Commonwealth of
Kentucky.
