The mission of the Spanish Program is to provide students with the opportunity to learn the Spanish language and appreciate the culture of Spanish-speaking peoples around the world.

The Spanish Program here at LWC, is still very much in its infancy, but is growing.  We currently offer a minor in Spanish which entails 21 credit hours at the 2000 level or higher.  SPAN 2033 is currently the only required course of those 21 credit hours.

A minor in Spanish goes great with practically any major.  By taking Spanish, not only does one become more marketable in the job field, but one's understanding of the world beyond is greatly enhanced.

  In addition, by learning this foreign language and by familiarizing ourselves with these varied cultures, our understanding of our own language and culture is greatly enhanced. The potential for this program to grow is great. I welcome any and all who thirst for knowledge and are willing to pioneer with me towards what this can become.
