What distinguishes the study of music at Lindsey Wilson College?
Check out our brief summary of recent accomplishments!
We initiated a successful composer, publisher, and performance
collaboration which resulted in the world premiere of "Words
of Lincoln," sponsored by the Lincoln Bicentennial Observance.
The Concert Choir collaborated with the Louisville Symphony
Orchestra, performing selections from Haydn.
The Lindsey Wilson Singers went on tour, traveling from San
Diego to San Francisco, California.
In addition, we expanded our partnership with the Kentucky
United Methodist Church through the Lighthouse Concert Project
and were selected for a mass performance of the Vivaldi Gloria with
the New England Symphonic Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.
Lindsey Wilson Singers
The LWC Singers are organized on professional standards to
represent the College on and off campus as a performing
arts ensemble. The choir studies and performs choral
music from all eras, specializing in sacred a
cappella anthem literature.
The Singers have many strong traditions, including the
Signing of the Standards of Excellence Ceremony in the fall, a
spring tour, and, along with the LWC Concert Choir, an annual
concert with the Commonwealth Strings. Over the years the Singers
have toured and performed in over 30 states from Alaska to Florida.
They also offer the possibility of international travel.
Representative works performed with the Commonwealth Strings
include the Faure's Requiem,
Vivaldi's Gloria, Haydn's Mass in G,
Haydn's Creation, Handel's Messiah.
