Students who join the Green Learning Community
benefit from social programming, academic programming, and shared
classes that consider issues and content important to creating a
sustainable future for our state, region and
country.
Who can join?
All incoming freshmen who are interested in the environment
and the new generation of green jobs which span all majors from
business to the sciences are invited to join the Green Learning
Community. If you want to breathe clean air and enjoy living
and working in a healthy environment, you are welcome to be part of
the Green Learning Community.

Community?
- Freshman Seminar (Tricia Day)
- Public Speaking (Dana Simmons)
- Business and the Environment (Dana Simmons and Richard
Hunley)
- Other classes to consider: Contemporary Issues in
Agribusiness; Topics in Science
What service project will the Three Rs members do?
The Green Learning Community members will choose service
projects that improve the environment on the campus and in the
community. They will assist with the Sustainability
Project begun by Lindsey Wilson's business students.
What other special activities are planned?
The Learning Community will make a field trip to
areas of the Smokey Mountain National Park that have been impacted
by changes in the environment as well as trip to the Appal Shop
(http://appalshop.org) in Whitesburg, KY.
