Stefanie Davis Tarter is a faculty member of the Applied and
Integrated Studies Division here at Lindsey Wilson College.
Stefanie teaches online and campus courses; she also teaches hybrid
courses on the Scottsville campus in addition to the Columbia
campus. Stefanie also works for WTVQ-36 Storm Team, the ABC
affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, as a Freelance
Meteorologist. When she is not filling in on-air, she is busy
teaching geoscience, earth science, and journalism classes.
Stefanie has had a passion for weather since childhood. It
was a the "Super Snowstorm" in March of 1993 that hit her home town
of Cincinnati, OH that made her interested in weather. Only a third
grader at the time, the snow came up to her waist and she simply
wondered…how is this much snow created in one day?
From that point on, changing weather always caught her eye and
she grew to especially love storm season in the spring. Her
storm chasing interest was carried out when she went to graduate
school at Mississippi State University. Stefanie graduated
from MSU with a M.S. degree in Atmospheric Sciences.
Stefanie comes to the Bluegrass from WLFI in Lafayette, IN
where she was a morning Meteorologist. Stefanie loves being a
Kentuckian and especially loves to forecast Kentucky's changing
