Spiritual Life

Lindsey Wilson College is a private institution with close ties and affiliations with the Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. These ties reach beyond financial assistance: LWC's affiliation is expressed in the heart of its mission.

LWC has several opportunities for students to get involved in campus ministry. LWC also has a vibrant prayer ministry and small group Bible studies that allow for intimate study of scriptures.

From the moment students arrive on the A.P. White Campus, members of Campus Ministries are ready to offer assistance by helping students move in and get connected.

Spiritual Organizations

The LIFE service is a college worship experience that includes contemporary music with a full band, creative arts worship, fellowship and lots of intentional ways to engage college students in worship. Worship is an act that we fully participate in, not just attend. LIFE also gives students an opportunity to tell their story, participate in various forms of worship and be a part of the LIFE leadership team, which guides the direction and theme of spiritual life on campus.

The Worship Team leads every week at the LIFE service. Members play instruments such as bass guitar, drums, or electronic keyboard.  Participants may sing backup or lead. The Worship Team leads the worship portion of the LIFE service.

The Creative Ministry team works on skits, interpretive movement and stick dramas to enhance LIFE worship service on Wednesday nights. It has student leaders that work with a Campus Ministries professional to select material and to keep students informed of rehearsal times, upcoming events, etc.

The Prayer Team leads our prayer ministry, IGNITE.  IGNITE meets Mondays at 8pm in the Begley Chapel.  The team also organizes See You at the Pole, National Day of Prayer events, prayer walks and vigils, and individual prayer with students at the conclusion of the LIFE services.

The Mission team consists of students that want to put feet to their faith. The goal is to take two trips during the school year -- one in spring and one in fall. You can help meet people's needs, work with children, and participate in construction projects that change people's lives.  We also offer summer mission opportunities.

The Ministry Team leads our students in meeting people's needs by providing ministry opportunities on campus and in our community.

The purpose of Small Groups is to help foster a sense of community between students and God. Small groups build up students spiritually and emotionally by fostering a sense of accountability. Small groups are a great place to meet with God and build new friendships. Using the Bible and book studies, members of a Family Group grow in their faith and truly experience community.
