COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College will host two transfer-information meetings in the Purchase area for students who were enrolled at Mid-Continent (Ky.) University.

The meetings will be held:

* 6 p.m. CT Monday, May 5, at West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative in Mayfield, 1218 W Broadway;

Officials from the college's academic affairs, admissions, financial aid and registrar's offices will attend the meetings.

All students who were enrolled at Mid-Continent are eligible to apply to transfer to LWC, according to LWC Vice President for Educational Outreach and Student Financial Services Denise Fudge.

Fudge also said that financial aid is available for 2014 summer classes, which being in less than three weeks.

"We are prepared to work with Mid-Continent students in an efficient manner so that they can continue to pursue their college careers," Fudge said. "Lindsey Wilson works with hundreds of transfer students a year, and we understand the process."

Mid-Continent students may apply to transfer to any LWC academic program: the 21 bachelor's degrees offered at the liberal arts college's A.P. White Campus in Columbia; its online bachelor's programs in business administration and criminal justice; and the bachelor's degree in human services & counseling offered at 26 community campuses in five states, including at Paducah and Hopkinsville.

There is no fee to apply for admission at LWC, Fudge said.

"Lindsey Wilson has been working with students for more than 110 years, and for the last three decades, Lindsey Wilson has excelled in serving the educational needs of working adults," said LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. "In addition to our residential campus in Southcentral Kentucky, we work with students at 26 community campuses in five states plus online classes."

For a transfer student to earn a bachelor's degree from  LWC, they must earn at least 42 credit hours -- or about 14 classes -- from LWC.
