COLUMBIA, Ky. -- About 28 rising fourth-
through eighth-graders were energized this week at the inaugural
Camp Energy. Held at Adair County High School and sponsored by the
Lindsey Wilson College Energy and Technology Career Academy, the
free two-day camp taught students how to make a solar panel, how to
measure the wind using an anemometer, how to make biodiesel and
other lessons in energy sustainability.
In addition to Adair County schools and the LWC Energy
Technology Career Academy, Camp Energy was also sponsored by Green
River Rural Electric Cooperative, the Kentucky Department for Energy Development and
Independence, and the National Energy Education Development
Project.
