COLUMBIA, Ky. -- You've created solid business and marketing plans and now you're ready to kick off your new business-- if only you can get the start-up money you need.

Join a panel of lending specialists on April 19 for "Identifying Funding Sources," the third in Lindsey Wilson College Center for Entrepreneurship's series of seminars on how to start a small business.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, April 19, in the LWC Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive.

Leading the April 19 discussion will be Garry Throckmorton, a lending specialist at the Community Ventures Corp., a Small Business Administration agency that works with banks throughout the area to generate new-business financing.

Joining Throckmorton from Community Ventures Corp. will be Campbellsville, Ky., Executive Vice President Pam Russell and Patricia Krausman, who is from the corporation's Elizabethtown, Ky., office.

A panel of local bank representatives will explain their loan programs. Time will be allocated for questions.

The seminar's series, titled "Build Your Own Job," focuses on ways area entrepreneurs can turn their business dreams into reality. Previous topics have explored business and marketing planning.

Future topics include: compensation and benefits on May 11; staffing, June 9; business law, Sept. 22; business communication, Oct. 20; and accounting practices and programs, Nov. 17.  All of the sessions will be held at the Cranmer Dining & Conference Center,
