COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson College will
host its first EDGE days of the summer on June 5-6.
EDGE -- an acronym for education, development, growth and
experience -- gives incoming Lindsey Wilson freshmen and their
guardians information about academic, social and residential life
at the college.
Dean of Admissions Traci Pooler encourages incoming students to
take full advantage of the opportunity that EDGE provides.
"It's so much more enjoyable and stress-free on the
first day of classes in the fall for the students who attend EDGE
day versus the ones who don't," said Pooler. "We strongly encourage
all incoming freshman to reap the benefits of EDGE for social,
academic and residential reasons."
There are many opportunities at EDGE beyond the serious nature
of financial questions and scheduling of classes. Incoming freshmen
also get a chance to participate in games and activities, such as
"Turtle Crossing" and "Critical Transfer." The games are
entertaining and also build community by introducing students to
their future classmates.
Pooler mentioned that because of this, the social ramifications
of EDGE are evident.
"It's not uncommon for students to meet some of their close
friends for the next four years while attending EDGE," said Pooler.
"In fact, I've seen many cases in which a student also meets their
roommate on that day. So, to say that EDGE gives you an advantage
would be an understatement."
Interested students may register online.
