COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Nothing beats a visit to a
college campus. Prospective Lindsey Wilson College students and
their families will have five opportunities to find out why at one
of the college's Open Houses during the 2009-10 school year.
Lindsey Wilson will host an Open House on: Oct. 3, Nov. 14, Jan. 30, March 27 and April
24.
Open House gives prospective students and their families a
glimpse of undergraduate life at Lindsey Wilson's A.P. White
Campus.
The March 27 Open House will be a talent showcase, and April 24
Open House will have a junior-senior focus.
Each Open House is held from 9 a.m.-noon CT. The day begins in
the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center.
"Open Houses give prospective students an excellent opportunity
to learn what a college is all about," said Lindsey Wilson Director of Admissions Charity Ferguson.
"Because classes are not held on Saturday, Open House is a very
relaxed and casual day. Everyone's focus is on prospective students
and their family members. At an Open House, prospective students
tour our campus, meet with our faculty and staff, learn about our
student-life programs - or anything else that interests them."
An Open House will also help prospective students and their
family members discover how they can afford a college education as
members of the Lindsey Wilson staff will explain the college's
financial-aid programs.
"Most people are surprised to learn how affordable a Lindsey
Wilson education is," Ferguson said. "Lindsey Wilson has a very
aggressive financial aid program that makes a college education
very affordable."
Students who attend an Open House can also meet with the
college's athletic coaches and advisers to student
organizations.
"In addition to meeting with our professors, we also want
prospective students to learn about our extracurricular and
co-curricular organizations because it's important to be involved
with a sports team, club or student organization when you are in
college," Ferguson said.
Ferguson added that it's never too early to begin the
college-search process.
"In addition to high school seniors, high school juniors and
sophomores should also consider attending an Open House," Ferguson
said. "Starting your college-search process early makes the senior
year of high school a little less stressful for both students and
their families."
Lindsey Wilson Open House days are open to high school
students and their families. A complimentary lunch will be served
in the college's award-winning Cranmer Dining & Conference
Center. To make reservations, contact the Lindsey Wilson Office of
