LWC Campus Community Holds Vigil to Remember Fallen Classmate, Teammate

A vigil was held at Blue Raider Stadium for Lindsey
Wilson freshman, Brittany Taylor who died on Monday in a car
accident. Taylor was a member of the LWC track and field team.

COLUMBIA, KY. -- Members of the Lindsey Wilson College community
gathered Thursday evening to remember a student and teammate who
died in a car accident on Monday, Sept. 19 during a head-on
collision in Taylor County, Ky.
Organized by the LWC Student Government, the vigil for Brittany
Nicole Taylor, 18, was held Thursday evening at Blue Raider
Stadium. Brittany was a Lindsey Wilson College freshman and thrower
on the track and field team. She was a commuting student from Green
LWC throws coach Jacob Carter said that Taylor was a sweet,
kind-hearted young woman that worked hard at practice every single
"I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Brittany and extend my
condolences to her family and friends," said Carter. "She was a
teammate, a friend, a sister, and a daughter who will be dearly
missed by many, but never forgotten. She will forever be a Blue
Raider - we carry her spirit on."
Taylor is fondly remembered by her admissions counselor Charity
Ferguson for her positive attitude and personality.
"Brittany was as sweet and pleasant as any student I have ever
worked with -- she always had a smile on her face."
Brittany's family, dozens of students, friends and teammates
attended the vigil.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 23 in Greensburg,
