Sunday Afternoon Concert Spans Three Centuries of Music

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- An eclectic selection of music
will be performed at an April 14 concert at Lindsey Wilson College.
A quintet of musicians from Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville (Ky.) University will perform at
2 p.m. CT in the LWC W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall,
155 Blue Raider Drive. The concert is free and open to the
The concert will include compositions from more
than 300 years of music, including selections from
Beethoven's Sonata No. 5 in F. Major, Opus 24 for Piano
and Violin; Frederic Chopin's
Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor; Ernst
von Dohnanyi's Piano Quintet Opus 1 in C
Minor; and Dmitri Shostakovich's
String Quartet No. 8 in C Minor. The
concert will also feature Mozart's Piano Concerto in E-flat
Performing will be the quintet of Saelim Henderson
and Wansoo Cho on violin, Denis Santos on viola, Saulo DeAlmeida on
cello, and Robert Reynolds on piano.
Cho has served as assistant conductor and
principal viola player for the University of Louisville Symphony
Orchestra and is currently a guest musician in residence at Lindsey
DeAlmeida teaches at Campbellsville and performs
internationally with the Almeida Duo. Henderson is concertmaster of
the Campbellsville University Orchestra. Reynolds is professor of music at LWC where he
teaches piano, music history, music theory and American Music, and
he also performs regionally as soloist and chamber
Santos is an adjunct faculty member at
Campbellsville, where he plays viola in the university orchestra,
directs the university's flute ensemble and teaches music theory.
He also teaches flute at Centre (Ky.) College.
