COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Learning how to develop a
successful business communication strategy is the focus of the next
seminar in the "Build Your Own Job" Seminar Series sponsored by the
Lindsey Wilson College Center for Entrepreneurship.
The free seminar is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, Oct.
20, in Mulligan's restaurant, located at The Pines at Lindsey
Wilson golf course, at 275 Country Club Road. A complimentary lunch
is included.
The featured speaker will be LWC Assistant Professor of
Communication Anne Streeter.
"Too often business owners think that buying an ad or having a
website or Facebook page is all they have to do to increase
customers and sales," Streeter said. "But there is more to business
communications, including some simple, inexpensive strategies that
are often overlooked."
Streeter will discuss a step-by-step method for developing a
strategic business communication plan.
Streeter has held a variety of leadership positions in marketing
and public relations in diverse industries, including health care,
tourism and public utilities. She has also been a small business
owner for several ventures, including a souvenir shop in Lahaina,
Maui, and more recently of her own marketing and public relations
agency. Before moving to Liberty, Ky., in 2003 to pursue a
doctorate in communication from University of Kentucky, she was
assistant vice president of marketing and public relations for
Baptist Health South Florida in Miami. She is accredited in public
relations by the Public Relations Society of America.
The last of the six-seminar series offered by Lindsey Wilson's
Center for Entrepreneurship will be on "Accounting Practices and
Programs" on Thursday, Nov. 17.
