COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Area families can have a good
time while helping out a good cause Saturday at Lindsey Wilson
College.
Students in Lindsey Wilson's Health Learning Community are
sponsoring a fall festival Saturday, Nov. 21, in the college's
Biggers Sports Center. The event begins at noon CT. It is free and
open to the public.
The fall festival will include inflatables for children,
carnival games, a cake walk, cornhole tournament a face-painting
for the kids. Lindsey Wilson faculty and staff will participate in
a "Pie in the Face" event in which they charge for people to throw
a pie in their face.
Earlier in the day, "Cuties for a Cause" will be held in the
college's V.P. Henry Auditorium. The pageant -- open to females
ages 0-22 and males 0-5 -- will be held at 10 a.m. CT. Registration
is $10 early, $15 day of the pageant and $3 to enter the photogenic
category for the age division.
All proceeds from the fall festival and pageant will be used to
support Center for Courageous Kids of Allen
County, Ky. The Center for Courageous Kids is a world-class medical
camp that operates solely on donations.
"With the temperatures dropping, we wanted to do something that
would give people a chance to do something inside and also help out
a good cause," said Lindsey Wilson sophomore Ashley Adamson of
Columbia, who is a member of the Health Learning Community. "The
Center for Courageous Kids does incredible things for children who
have medical issues."
