COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Halloween will be celebrated
Oct. 29 at Lindsey Wilson College for Southcentral Kentucky
children. On Thursday, Oct. 29, Lindsey Wilson College will hold
its "Safe Halloween," an annual event that gives the region's
trick-or-treaters an opportunity to collect candy in Lindsey
Wilson's residence halls.
Parents and guardians can bring children to the Lindsey Wilson
Cralle Student Union Building lobby from 6-8 p.m. CT on Thursday,
Oct. 29. There is no cost to attend the event.
Lindsey Wilson students will lead children and their parents or
guardians through residence halls, where residents will hand out
candy. It takes about 40 minutes to canvass the college's residence
halls. All items distributed at "Safe Halloween" are individually
wrapped, pre-packaged store-bought candy.
This is the 16th consecutive year Lindsey Wilson has held "Safe
Halloween" for the region's children. The annual event is as
popular among Lindsey Wilson students as it is among area
"This is one of the big events for our students each year," said
Lindsey Wilson Director of Residence Life Andy McAllister. "They
put a lot of work into decorating the residence halls and dressing
up in costumes. And they love to give candy to the children."
McAllister has worked the event as both a student and as a
Lindsey Wilson employee.
"What I love about 'Safe Halloween' is that it helps bring the
college and the community together," he said. "It's also a great
for families. Parents like 'Safe Halloween' because they know their
children will be at a safe environment. And the children like it
because they always come away with a big bag of candy."
Lindsey Wilson College's "Safe Halloween" will be from 6-8
p.m. CT Thursday, Oct. 29. For more information about "Safe
