COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College "has
never been stronger" in its nearly 110-year history. That was the
message LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. delivered on April 15
at the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce's
annual spring banquet.
"Lindsey Wilson College has never been stronger. ... It's pretty
clear to me that there is no college in Kentucky that has
experience the kind of transformation we have experienced" at
Lindsey Wilson, Luckey said in the keynote address to more than 125
guests at the college's Robert D. Cranmer Dining & Conference
Center.
Luckey, who has been the college's eighth
president since July 1, 1998, has presided over the largest
expansion in LWC's 108-year history. More than two dozen buildings
have been added to the A.P. White Campus, the budget has almost
tripled, and enrollment has broken the 2,500-student mark.
But Luckey said LWC's biggest change has been increasing the
number of full-time faculty from 42 when he assumed the presidency
to more than 100 this school year.
"I think the most dramatic and the most important change at the
college is occurring with our students and the interaction they
experience with our faculty," Luckey said.
