String Ensemble to Give Friday Night Concert

The Petar Jankovic Ensemble includes Petar
Sophie Bird, Minju Kim,
Rose Wollman and Kyra Saltman.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Area residents can enjoy a
concert Friday night at Lindsey Wilson College before returning
home to watch the latest "Game of the Century."
The Petar Jankovic Ensemble will perform at 6:30
p.m. CT Friday, March 28, in W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital
Hall, 155 Blue Raider Drive. The event is free and open to the
public. The concert will last about 90 minutes.
"To accommodate residents who want to watch Friday
night's basketball game between the University of Kentucky and the
University of Louisville, we have moved up the concert's start time
to 6:30," said LWC Cultural Affairs Chair Phil Hanna. "People can

include: Manuel De Falla's "Danza No. 1"; Isaac Albeniz's
"Asturias"; children melodies by Claude Debussy; selections from
Dmitri Shostakovich preludes and fugues; three tangos by Astor
Piazzolla; and a Brazilian medley.
The Petar Jankovic Ensemble is a unique chamber ensemble
because it is a traditional string quintet, except it is led by
Jankovic on guitar.

professor at the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music
