'SoundBites' Concert to Celebrate Alignment, Charles Dickens

The Lindsey Wilson Concert Choir will perform a tribute to Charles
Dickens.
COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The numbers line up on
Thursday, and so two Lindsey Wilson College musical ensembles are
going to celebrate 10-11-12 day.
The Lindsey Wilson Concert Choir and students from a class on
church methods and materials will give a short Thursday morning
concert in W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall.
Dubbed "SoundBites Recital," the free concert will be at
11:30 a.m. CT in Slider Recital Hall.
"So if you are in the community and are close-by for lunch,
we hope to see you at the Slider Recital Hall," said LWC Director
of Choral Activities Gerald Chafin.
The students from the church methods and materials class will
open "SoundBites" with a handbells performance with members of
Columbia Baptist Church.
Then members of the Lindsey Wilson Concert Choir will perform
a bicentennial reflection on Charles Dickens, who was born in 1812.
The performance -- which will conclude around noon CT -- will
feature works by Lewis Carroll, who influenced Dickens' work, as
well as some of Dickens' poetry.
