COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson
College community will hold its annual Veterans Appreciation
Luncheon on Monday, Nov. 12.
This year's speaker will be the Rev. Terry Swan, who is dean of the chapel and a
retired colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.
The luncheon begins at 11 a.m. CT on Nov. 12, in Roberta D.
Cranmer Dining & Conference Center.
The luncheon is open to veterans and their spouses or a
guest, along with veterans' widows and widowers. There is no charge
to attend the luncheon, but guests are asked to RSVP by contacting
the Lindsey Wilson Alumni Office at alumni@lindsey.edu or (270)
384-8400.
This is the 10th consecutive year Lindsey Wilson has held the
luncheon. The event is sponsored by the Lindsey Wilson National Alumni
Association.
Lindsey Wilson started the luncheon in 2003 as part of the
college's centennial celebrations. The annual event is not held on
Veterans Day so that it does not conflict with community
celebrations on that day.
"This is a very small way for the Lindsey Wilson community to
show to those individuals who have served our nation during both
times of peace and during times of war," said LWC Vice President
for Student Services and Enrollment Management Dean Adams, who is an LWC alumnus. "The
luncheon has become one of the more popular events on campus
because faculty, staff and students enjoy taking one day a year to
thank our veterans and their family members."
The Lindsey Wilson College Veterans Appreciation Luncheon
will be held at 11 a.m. CT on Monday, Nov. 12. The luncheon is free
to all veterans, veterans' survivors and a guest. Guests should
RSVP by contacting Lindsey Wilson at alumni@lindsey.edu or (270)
384-8400.
