Writing for Life
This QEP hopes to not only make LWC graduates solid writers, but
also to help students learn to love writing and see the central
place it has in our culture and in their lives. The Writing for
Life Initiative will include a variety of co-curricular
opportunities for students to write and to engage with faculty,
other student writers and visiting writers. These
- Beginning in Spring 2013, the College will host a writer each
academic year for a week-long residency.
- Contests for poetry, creative and non-fiction writing will be
scheduled during the academic year.
- Lindsey Writes week, including speakers on writing, open houses
at the writing center and library, and activities geared toward
informing students about both writing and the QEP.
- Student blogs and other opportunities to share student writing
on LWC website.
The Writing for Life Initiative is intended to impact
all the Lindsey Writes student learning outcomes,
particularly Lindsey Writes SLO 2.
