Nicole has been with Lindsey Wilson School of Professional Counseling since 2008 and enthusiastically supports the mission of SPC. She describes herself as student centered in her role as professor and Regional Academic Director.

Nicole's research interests involve social and cultural factors that affect the self-concept. She is currently examining the cultural worldview of Appalachians and implications for counseling.

Nicole has returned to her ancestral roots in Eastern Kentucky. She currently reside in the beautiful mountains of Pike County with my husband and colleague, Daniel, and their daughter, Indigo Elise.

Lindsey Wilson College, School of Professional Counseling holds a special place in the heart of Shelia. Shelia earned a BA degree in human services and counseling and a MEd in mental health counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. Shelia was one of the first students to graduate both programs in the community college format.

Shelia enjoys sharing the mission of Lindsey Wilson College with other students and celebrating with them as they achieve their educational dreams. She feels it is such an honor to give back to the college that gave so much to her. Her responsibilities include the administrative oversight of the enrollment coordinators, among other duties within the Appalachian Crossroads (Region 3).
