Upward Bound
The Upward Bound program is funded by the
United States Department of Education and is designed to generate
skills and motivation necessary for success in education beyond
secondary school. The Lindsey Wilson College Upward Bound program
serves Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Russell and
Taylor counties in central and south-central Kentucky. Taylor
County has two high schools, Campbellsville Independent High School
and Taylor County High School.

Our office staff is located in the Upward Bound Building. We
also staff various educators in the schools systems that we serve
as well as college students, professors, administrators and other
community partners for our summer component. The Upward Bound
program also offers extended summer hours.
Targeted Upward Bound students must meet eligibility requirements,
such as low-income and first generation. In addition, students must
have a need for academic support in order to pursue education
beyond the secondary school level. We provide college courses,
college prep courses, cultural enrichment, educational field trips,
and college visits. Our students participate in an Upward Bound
activity one Saturday a month and live on campus in the Lindsey
Wilson College dorms for six weeks in the summer. We want to give
them the opportunity to "live the college life". We encourage our
students to further their education as much as possible and it all
starts here at Lindsey Wilson College.
